Friends Along the Path, Inc. (FAP)
is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit Educational Organization committed to teaching principles and techniques to promote physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual well-being. We are a meditation school and service group founded in 1994. FAP classes are modeled after a meditation school called the Lotus Center which existed in Oklahoma City in the 1970s and 1980s under the spiritual leadership of an Oklahoma native named Audle Allison. Audle studied with a number of Eastern spiritual masters, and incorporated techniques and wisdom teachings from several traditions including Hindu, Christian, Theosophical, and Sikh.
At its peak the Lotus Center had an active membership of over 600 people and touched thousands of lives. At FAP, we have done our best to preserve the wisdom and spiritual flow of this unique enlightenment school in order to continue to share it with fellow seekers of spiritual growth.
When Audle Allison died, many of his students branched out to fulfill his wish that the teachings would be brought to others. There are Lotus Center-inspired groups in Oklahoma and a number of other states. In Oklahoma City, Friends of the Lotus serves to link together the many different groups by maintaining a website, running an e-mail distribution list and hosting several retreats per year.
